The Apollo.io Signals You Already Pay For, Set Up With You
Apollo.io signals already sit in your account: job changes, buying intent, website visitors, hiring, and the Workflows that act on them. Most Apollo.io customers never set them up. We set them up with you on a recorded working session inside your Apollo.io, then run the email and LinkedIn outreach on top.
Signals Sitting Unused in Your Apollo.io
Your Apollo.io account can flag a champion who changed jobs, a company researching your category, a pricing-page visitor and a team hiring for the role you support. Most of it never gets switched on, so reps work static lists.
In the 2026 State of B2B GTM Report (300 B2B software and AI companies), 48% plan to increase investment in signal-based outbound in 2027. Yet at any deal size, no more than 35% act on champion movements and no more than 31% on hiring activity.
See how every signal fits together in signal-based outbound.
It Makes Apollo.io Do What You Bought It For
- No new data tool or contract
- Runs in your own Apollo.io, under your admin
- Changes made live with you, on a recording you keep
- Email in Apollo.io and LinkedIn, powered by HeyReach, run by us
How Apollo.io Signals and Scoring Work
Built-in signals
Job changes, buying intent, website visits, job postings, funding and headcount growth. Each is a filter in Apollo.io search that can feed a Workflow.
Custom signals
Create your own signal on people or companies. Use it as a search filter or inside a score.
Scores
A custom Apollo.io score ranks accounts on the signals you choose. We weight each one by strength, recency and fit, so the best accounts surface first.
The Apollo.io Buying Signals We Set Up
Job Changes: Past Customers and Champions Who Move
What it catches
A past customer or champion moves to a new company. They already know your product. Apollo.io flags the move for contacts saved in your account.
What we set up
- Past customers and champions saved to their own lists
- Job change alerts switched on, with capped update runs on a schedule
- A Contact changed jobs Workflow that updates the record and starts a sequence
LinkedIn follow-up
The same list feeds a LinkedIn campaign. Each person is checked against LinkedIn and Apollo.io's latest work history first, so people who already moved are held back.
See how job change tracking works →Buying Intent: Accounts Researching Your Topics
What it catches
Companies reading up on the problems you solve. Apollo.io buying intent runs on Bombora data across 15,000+ topics, refreshes weekly, and marks each account High or Medium.
What we set up
- Intent topics chosen with you, inside your plan's topic limit
- Saved searches that pair High and Medium intent with your personas
- A weekly Workflow that moves high-intent accounts from your target list into a signal list
LinkedIn follow-up
People at those accounts go into a LinkedIn campaign. Intent is company-level, so the message speaks to the problem, never "I saw you researching." The Intent Ladder shows how we tier it by buying stage.
Website Visitors: Companies and People on Your Site
What it catches
Companies visiting your site, plus U.S.-based people on Apollo.io's Inbound add-on. A pricing-page visit is a raised hand, no form required.
What we set up
- Apollo.io's website tracker installed directly or through Google Tag Manager
- High-intent pages separated from blog traffic
- A Website visited Workflow that routes accounts to a list and people to a sequence
- Cookie and data notices checked first, as Apollo.io asks before contact-level tracking
LinkedIn follow-up
The same accounts feed a LinkedIn campaign, so the right person hears from you on both channels.
Apollo.io website visitor tracking, run for you →Expansion: New People at Accounts You Already Sell To
What it catches
New hires at your current customers. The account already trusts you. The new director has never heard of you.
What we set up
- A customer account list from your CRM or a CSV
- A Workflow that finds new people there who match your personas
- Tasks for the account owner, plus an expansion sequence
- A sequence rule set that lets Apollo.io email current customers (blocked by default)
LinkedIn follow-up
The LinkedIn step can go out from the account owner's seat, so the first touch comes from the relationship owner.
Hiring: Companies Staffing Up for What You Support
What it catches
Companies posting jobs that point at your product. A new SDR team needs sales tooling. A first RevOps hire needs clean data.
What we set up
- A search on Apollo.io's Job postings filter: job titles, location and posting date
- The search saved with an alert, so new matches reach you daily or weekly
- New matches reviewed weekly and added to your signal list, capped per run
LinkedIn follow-up
Hiring managers and team leads go into a LinkedIn campaign that speaks to the role they are filling.

- Job title

Workflows That Act on Every Signal
What it catches
Everything above, without anyone checking a list by hand.
What we set up
- Triggered Workflows for job changes, site visits and email engagement
- Weekly scheduled Workflows for intent and hiring, which have no event trigger
- Enrollment approval set to automatic or to a review task, signal by signal
- Actions that fill lists and sequences, assign tasks and send Slack or email alerts
LinkedIn follow-up
Every list a Workflow fills can feed the weekly LinkedIn refill, so LinkedIn runs on the same signals as email.
Workflow triggers we build on
- Contact changed jobs
- Website visited
- Email opened, clicked or replied
- Contact finished sequence
- Contact added to list
- Form submitted

Signal Campaigns on Email and LinkedIn
Each signal lands in its own Apollo.io list. We write and run the email sequences in Apollo.io and the LinkedIn campaigns on our managed workspace, powered by HeyReach. See how the two connect in our Apollo.io HeyReach integration.
Accepts and replies write back to Apollo.io, and a LinkedIn reply stops the email sequence. LinkedIn automation is against LinkedIn's terms, so we enforce safe daily limits on every seat.
Automated or Human-Reviewed, Signal by Signal
- Automated: the contact is enrolled and the sequence sends
- Human-reviewed: a rep approves each touch first

Apollo.io signals are data points that show a company or person may be ready to buy: job changes, buying intent, website visits, job postings, funding and headcount growth. You can also create custom signals for filters and scores.
It runs on Bombora data. You pick topics, and each week Apollo.io scores the companies researching them. High is a Bombora score of 75 to 100, medium is 61 to 74, and lower scores are hidden. Intent is company-level: it shows which account is researching, not which person.
1 topic on Free, 6 on Basic or Professional, and 12 on Organization. Topics lock for 24 hours after each change, so we pick them with you on the session.
Yes. You can build a custom score in Apollo.io from your signals, then filter and sort by it. We set the weights with you: signal strength, recency and fit to your ideal customer profile.
Company-level website visitors work on every plan, including Free. Job change enrichment needs a paid plan and uses credits. Contact-level visitors need Apollo.io's Inbound add-on and cover U.S. visitors only. Workflows and intent topics vary by plan. We check yours before the session.
Not for these. Job changes, intent, website visitors, hiring and Workflows already run inside Apollo.io, so there is no Clay table to build and no extra contract to sign. We set them up in your account.
It is custom, scoped to the signals you pick. Contact us for a quote. The LinkedIn side is $249 a month for the first seat, $99 for each additional.
