Apollo.io Audit in ChatGPT
Ask ChatGPT to audit your Apollo.io workspace and read the findings in the chat. The free GTM Works Apollo.io audit for ChatGPT: sign in with Apollo.io, read-only, and no credits used.
What the Apollo.io audit in ChatGPT does
It runs the same free Apollo.io audit as the website, from inside ChatGPT. Type "audit my Apollo.io workspace", sign in with Apollo.io once, and ChatGPT starts the scan, reads the findings and walks you through each fix.
It finds duplicate accounts (the same free scan as Apollo.io account dedupe), contacts in two sequences at once, Not sent emails from the last 30 days, mailboxes that cannot send with live sequences behind them, sequences Apollo.io paused, and deactivated users who still own records.
Apollo.io's own ChatGPT app searches and works your records. This one audits them and tells you what to fix. They do different jobs and you can connect both.
Watch the audit run
Recorded in ChatGPT on the demo workspace, with a Claude version one click away. Ask "audit my Apollo.io workspace" and the chat starts the scan, walks through the findings and pulls the contacts, users and sequences behind them.
Then what it will not do: merge accounts from the chat, take an API key pasted into the chat, or search for leads.
How to connect the Apollo.io audit to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins, search for GTM Works Apollo.io Audit and click + to add it.
- A GTM Works page opens. Click Sign in with Apollo.io, sign in as an Apollo.io admin and approve read-only access.
- Back in ChatGPT, type "Audit my Apollo.io workspace."
First findings arrive in minutes. The duplicate scan takes longer on a big workspace, and we email you when it is done.
The five tools
Every input is an audit id, a check name or a number. No tool takes free text, and none writes to Apollo.io.
List my Apollo.io audits
list_apollo_audits
The audits this connection can see, newest first, with status, finding count, when each expires and a link to its results page.
Start an Apollo.io audit
start_apollo_audit
Starts the audit on the workspace you signed in with. It reads your workspace and changes nothing in Apollo.io. Run it twice and you get the same scan back, not a second one.
Get Apollo.io audit findings
get_apollo_audit
Every finished check: what it found, how many records, why it matters and how to fix it, with a link into your own Apollo.io where Apollo.io has the fix. Checks that could not run say so.
List the records behind one finding
get_audit_finding_rows
The contacts, sequences, workflows, mailboxes or users behind one finding, 25 at a time (up to 100). Your own records, in your own chat, because you asked.
Check the duplicate account scan
get_duplicate_account_scan
Progress on the duplicate account scan while it runs. When it is done: accounts scanned, companies saved more than once, accounts to merge and what created them.
Example prompts
- "Audit my Apollo.io workspace."
- "How many duplicate accounts are in my Apollo.io, and where did they come from?"
- "Show me the contacts who are in two sequences at once."
- "Which deactivated users still own contacts or accounts in my Apollo.io?"
- "Why did Apollo.io not send emails last month? Group them by what I need to fix."
How your Apollo.io sign-in is handled
- On Apollo.io's own page. You sign in there and approve read-only access. ChatGPT never sees a password, key or token.
- Read-only scopes. GTM Works can read your saved records. It cannot change them.
- Stored encrypted, deleted 7 days after the scan. Results are kept 30 days.
- Never logged. Connection tokens are stored hashed and expire after an hour.
- Results only to you and into the chat you asked from. Nothing is pooled or compared across customers. Privacy policy.
What sign-in covers
- Runs in full: the duplicate account scan, contacts in two sequences, Not sent emails, mailboxes, paused sequences and departed reps' records.
- Does not run: the three workflow checks and the blank-field check. Apollo.io's sign-in does not give apps access to workflows or sequence email templates. The audit says so plainly and never shows them as clear.
- Optional fixes such as merging duplicate accounts are separate services on gtmworks.ai. Nothing is sold in ChatGPT.
How to disconnect
- In ChatGPT: open the app's settings and disconnect GTM Works Apollo.io Audit.
- On app.gtmworks.ai: open your scans and click Disconnect next to ChatGPT under Connected AI apps. Its tokens stop working at once.
- In Apollo.io: remove GTM Works from your connected apps. We delete our copy of the sign-in 7 days after the scan either way.
Troubleshooting
A check says it could not run
Apollo.io's sign-in does not give apps access to workflows or to a sequence's email templates. Those 4 checks did not run, so they are not a clean result. The other 5 checks and the duplicate scan run in full. The full audit, with every check, runs on app.gtmworks.ai.
Apollo.io says you cannot connect apps
Your Apollo.io user needs permission to authorize third-party apps. Sign in as an Apollo.io admin, or ask one to connect GTM Works.
The duplicate scan is still running
It reads every saved account, so it can take hours on a big workspace. We email you when it is done. Ask ChatGPT again later.
The chat gives you a link to connect again
Sign-ins are deleted 7 days after a scan. Open the link, sign in with Apollo.io again, then ask ChatGPT to start the audit. The link works for 30 minutes.
The audit has expired
Free results are deleted 30 days after the scan. Ask ChatGPT to start a new audit.
It will not start another scan
New scans are limited to 5 per email and 3 per Apollo.io user a day. Ask ChatGPT for your existing audit instead.

Apollo.io Audit in ChatGPT: Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from Apollo.io's own ChatGPT app?
Apollo.io's own app searches and works your Apollo.io records from a chat. This one is a free audit by GTM Works, an Apollo.io Certified Agency Partner: it checks your workspace and reports what is broken, with the steps to fix each finding. You can use both.
Is the Apollo.io audit in ChatGPT free?
Yes. The audit, the duplicate account scan and a CSV of every finding are free. Two optional fixes, merging duplicate accounts and handing a departed rep's records to someone else, are separate services on gtmworks.ai. Nothing is sold in ChatGPT.
Can it change anything in my Apollo.io?
No. Every tool reads. Starting an audit queues a read-only scan, and the Apollo.io sign-in only has read-only permissions.
Do I give ChatGPT my Apollo.io password or API key?
No. You sign in with Apollo.io on Apollo.io's own page, and approve read-only access for GTM Works. ChatGPT never sees a password, a key or a token, and no tool has a field that takes one.
Does it use Apollo.io credits?
No. It reads records already saved in your workspace, which costs no credits. It does use some of your team's hourly API limit, paced so your own tools keep working.
Can I try it without connecting my own Apollo.io?
Yes. On the connect screen, click Try the demo workspace. It runs the real audit on a made-up company, Northwind Demo. Nothing real is read.
